Radio Gwendalyn è presente con una residenza radiofonica al 10° anniversario di Babel – festival di letteratura e traduzione. Al microfono i nostri inviati Alan Alpenfelt e Il Jumbo in diretta dal Wilton’s Music Hall, Londra. (una delle sale di musica più vecchie di Londra!)

“Il gap che abbiamo scoperto, è quello che sta tra la cultura londinese/inglese che è monolitica, monolingue, bianca e condivide moltissimi parametri di educazione e scuole, e la realtà sociale londinese che è multiculturale. C’è un grande scollamento tra questi due e Babel si è inserito proprio in questo: è caduto nel “Gap”, tra la piattaforma dell’establishment e il treno del presente che è Londra che continua a passare velocemente.” – V. Un progetto di crowdfunding su wemakeit ha permesso la creazione del Dialäkt äpp, una App che attraverso il riconoscimento del dialetto riesce a individuare la provenienza della persona.
Ma cosa succede se l’interazione avviene con un naturalizzato che è cresciuto in tutte le zone linguistiche della Svizzera? Sarà il Dialäkt äpp a offrirgli una nuova identità?

Radio Gwendalyn will be hosting a radio residence at the 10° anniversary of Babel – festival di letteratura e traduzione. Behind the mikes with Alan Alpenfelt and Il Jumbo live from Wilton’s Music Hall, London.

Theme: Fragility and mutations of minor languages
One language dies every 14 days.
Language is what defines our reality. without language: no reality, no world, nothing. We tend towards unifying everything although it is diversity that defines us.
Radio Gwendalyn’s residence at Babel’s 10° anniversary proposes a series of programmes dedicated to the struggle of minor languages and cultures, invented and even unknown ones.

A crowdfunding project on wemakeit gave some Swiss University researchers the chance to create the Dialäkt äpp, an app that can find out where you come from by analysing how a person pronounces certain words in its dialect.
But what happens if the interaction is made between the app and naturalised citizen who has lived in all the language areas of Switzerland? Can the Dialäkt äpp find him a new identity?
