Seventeen Seconds accende i suoi microfoni su Radio Gwen per farvi compagnia e farvi passare 1 ora e mezza con i suoni dei mitici anni 80…. ma non solo…. avremo sempre un orecchio teso verso il presente per scoprire i nuovi gruppi che ancora oggi ricalcano e cercano di tenere viva quest’ondata musicale…..

Seventeen seconds è nato da una passione smisurata per il periodo che ha cavalcato la musica a tra la fine degli anni 70 e tutto il 1980. Herbert e Federico tra una pezzo musicale e l’altro, accompagneranno gli ascoltatori attraverso notizie improbabili recuperate da tutto il mondo e qui la differenza da altre trasmissioni che si occupano di musica Dark, New Wave… si fa sentire.

In questa puntata, abbiamo il grandissimo onore di avere in scaletta i

“The Black Veils”

Biography:

Formed in 2014 out of the collaboration between Gregor Samsa (vocals), Filippo Scalzo (bass) and Mario “Dada” D’Anelli (guitar,synth and drum machine),The BlackVeils are a post-punk and shoegaze trio based in Bologna, Italy.They draw on a dark and surreal imaginary, combining enigmatic lyrics with melodic evocative atmospheres. Through echoes and reverberations of the guitar, obsessive and “danceable” bass lines and ethereal sharp vocals, the sound of The Black Veils becomes a never-static and passionate research.

That same year, The Black Veils meet Gianluca Lo Presti (Nevica su 4.0) – owner of the “Disco Dada” label and long-time collaborator of Tying Tiffany, Blaine L. Reininger of Tuxedomoon, Delendanoia, Cosmetic and Vanity – who records and mixes their first self-produced album “Blossom”, which it’s released in October 2015. Giuseppe Lo Bue of Caron Dimonio is also involved in the recording sessions of “Blossom”, playing guitars on the tracks “King of Worms” and “Out of the Well (For David Michael Bunting)”.

“The Fall” is released as their first official video in January 2016.
In January 2016 the band also releases a brand new song for Darkitalia’s compilation “Sparkles in the Dark, Vol. 2” called “(Let’s Set The) Cities on Fire”, recorded, mixed and mastered by Giuseppe Taibi of post-punk band Two Moons.
All year long,The BlackVeils keep on touring all over Italy.
The Black Veils’ second album, “Dealing with Demons”, will be released in January 2017 through “Atmosphere Records”.

Biografia

I Black Veils nascono nel 2014 dalla collaborazione tra Gregor Samsa, voce e synth, Filippo Scalzo, basso, e Mario “Dada” D’Anelli, chitarra, synth e drum machine.
il trio, di base a Bologna, compone attingendo da un immaginario oscuro e surreale, coniugando testi enigmatici ad atmosfere tanto cupe quanto melodiche ed evocative. Attraverso le chitarre dense di echi e riverberi di Mario D’Anelli, il basso ossessivo e “danzereccio” di Filippo Scalzo e i vocalizzi eterei e incisivi di Gregor Samsa, la musica dei Black Veils diviene una ricerca appassionata e mai statica.

Nell’estate del 2014, i Black Veils incontrano Gianluca Lo Presti (Nevica su 4.0) – titolare della Disco Dada e collaboratore di musicisti quali Tying Tiffany, Blaine L. Reininger dei Tuxedomoon, Delendanoia, Cosmetic e

Vanity – che registra, mixa e cura artisticamente il primo album del gruppo, “Blossom”, uscito il 10 Ottobre 2015. Alle registrazioni di “Blossom” partecipa anche Giuseppe Lo Bue dei Caron Dimonio, che incide alcune personalissime parti di chitarra nei brani “King of Worms” e “Out of the Well (For David Michael Bunting)”.

Nel gennaio 2016 viene rilasciato il primo video del gruppo, “The Fall”, diretto dallo stesso Mario d’Anelli.
In quello stesso mese, il gruppo contribuisce alla compilation di Darkitalia “Sparkles in the Dark,Vol. 2”, con un brano inedito chiamato “(Let’s Set The) Cities on Fire”, registrato, mixato e masterizzato da Giuseppe Taibi dei Two Moons.
Durante tutto il 2016, i Black Veils percorrono l’Italia in tour.
Il secondo album dei Black Veils, “Dealing with Demons”, uscirà a gennaio 2017 per Atmosphere Records.
